I Would Like To Apologize For My Absence

I wish to sincerely apologize to all of my loyal readers and fans for the long wait since my last review. I assure you I haven’t forgotten about you, my readers and fans, nay, I have merely forgotten to post anything since my last review. Now, my friends, I have returned, along with my “highly acclaimed” analysis of the cinema. Yes, I am back, and not a moment too late, I may add. I try my hardest to turn out highly enjoyable and educational analyses of different films from the cinema, and I enjoy doing it. My return to movie analysis is official. You can put a stamp on it.

Blue Jasmine (Woody Allen, 2013); Moonrise Kingdom (Wes Anderson, 2012); My Reputation (Curtis Bernhardt, 1946)

yes, my friends, I have watched not one, not two, but three films within the past 5 days. I simply could not pick one to review, so I figured, hey, my readers love when I review one movie, why not review three in one piece! and so, here it is: a three-part review. in this review, you will find me reviewing each of the three films. first up to the plate, Woody Allen's 2013 film Blue Jasmine. this, my friends, was a very interesting film. i sat down on my couch as my parents were watching it, around say, oh, 38 minutes into the film. after the film had ended, I started the film over from the beginning to see the parts I had missed. after doing this (in fact, I didn't just watch the parts that I missed - I stayed around for an extra ten minutes, to clear up some confusion I had when I first sat down.) anyway, after this I watched Wes Anderson's 2012 film Moonrise Kingdom. Bill Murray's pants in this film are fantastic, as is the film itself. so onto the third and final movie I will be reviewing today, and that is Curtis Bernhardt's 1946 film My Reputation, starring Barbara Stanwyck. I recorded this film off of tcm, along with six other films which I have not yet gotten around to yet. I could use some more clear space on my DVR, but alas, I am not the sole user of it. anyway, the highlight of this film had to be Stanwyck's kids. the day after their dad's funeral they are joyfully frolicking around and asking to go to a baseball game, and then months later are upset at their mother for dating somebody and say something to the effect of "do you not love dad anymore? I feel like we're the only ones who care about him anymore." I really enjoyed analyzing these three films, feel free to leave comments in the comments section if you have a question or something to add.

All Along the Watchtower (Grant Odom, 2010)

it has been a while my friends, but for a masterpiece like All Along the Watchtower, i had no choice but to return to There's Always a Bigger Fish to make one more blog post. clocking in at just over four minutes, this film does not waste a second. not only is this film entertainment of the highest degree, it poses questions that one may not have even considered before. a film like this demands to be rewatched again and again and again, with each view unlocking a new truth or a new question to ponder. this is perhaps the finest debut in film, the Citizen Kane of a new generation. Odom could never make a film again and would still be remembered as a filmmaking legend due to this incredible achievement, but i can only hope that more projects are released soon from this master of the highest order. without spoiling things, i can only say that going into the bathroom will never be quite the same after witnessing the masterfully contemplative scene which took place in one. this is a film that i won't soon forget.

Fire Drill Boner (Stuart Collier, 2011)

no my friends, this is not a film. however, it is a very intriguing post by Stuart Collier on the Shaq which simply must be examined further. let's start off with the basics of the post: Mr. Collier acquired a boner while sleeping during his Marine Bio class, only to be woken up by a fire alarm. not only did this occur, but due to school rules his shirt had to be tucked in. coincidence? I think not. but we will return to that later. clearly, this boner was initiated by Mr. Collier dreaming of female ass. bored by his class, he decided that he would rather go to sleep and dream of ass rather than suffer through the rest of Marine Bio. back to my point of this being no coincidence. as I hope all readers of this blog are, Mr. Collier is a loyal follower of Shaquille O'Neal. there is no doubt in my mind that Shaq's eternal rival, Kobe Bryant, was notified of Mr. Collier's boner and was responsible for the fire alarm going of in an attempt to embarrass Mr. Collier. thankfully, Mr. Collier doesn't believe that anybody saw his boner and therefore thwarted Bryant's plan.

The Tree of Life (Terrence Malick, 2011)

in case you are unaware, my air conditioner has been broken for the last several days. today it reached a peak of 86 degrees, believed to be the hottest it has ever been in my house. to get away from this terrible indoor heat, my family decided to go to dinner and a movie. I considered not going in the case my friends called me up (which did not happen) but did not want to risk staying in house rest of night so I decided to go. after all, I was going into glorious air conditioning and seeing Tree of Life. we went to some pizza place to eat, and while the air conditioner was solid and no doubt refreshing, it was nowhere near the level of the movie theater. at a perfect 72 degrees, it was the perfect environment to watch a movie. although it never felt too cold, warmth was thankfully nowhere in sight. especially now that I have been informed it will take about two weeks to get a new air conditioner, the temperature of the theater will stick in my mind for a while. simply put, the air conditioning was amazing.
